Billy Ocean is Britain’s most commercially successful Black artist, having sold more than 30 million records worldwide.

Born in Trinidad, Billy settled in London’s East End when just seven years old. The calypso crazy kid soon got turned on to soul singers like Otis Redding and Sam Cooke, as well as groups like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, leading him to spend much of his study time in the music room.

His first hit was the 1976 hit single “Love Really Hurts Without You” followed by “Red Light Spells Danger.” And there were more hits in the ’80s, including three US number ones: “Caribbean Queen (No More Love On The Run)”, “There’ll Be Sad Songs (To Make You Cry)” and “Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car”.

But he is probably best known for “When The Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going”, which was a hit for Billy Ocean in 1986 thirteen years later. Get ready for a night to remember as we proudly present a worldwide star.
